In Greece yachting was developed mainly on the basis of the institutional framework of the commercial vessel with the prefecture 438 of 1976 with its subsequent amendments. It was developed with many mainly foreign customers, until the high season, in 2007 when it was estimated that the professional tourist boats were between 4,000-4,500 and were handled by more than 100 brokerage agencies.
